UK policy priorities for tech, and what they mean for Plymouth

Charlotte has led techUK’s policy and public affairs function which covers a number of policy and regulatory areas including data protection and privacy, skills and migration, intellectual property and copyright, the Digital Single Market, the economic contribution of tech, and more. She has co-authored several major reports including ‘Securing our digital future: the techUK manifesto for growth and jobs 2015-2020’ and ‘London’s Digital Future: The Tech Mayoral Manifesto 2016’ which both received cross-party endorsements. Charlotte was voted #37 in Computer Weekly most influential woman in tech 2016.

In her talk, Charlotte is going to give an overview of the UK government approach to digital policy, what the tech industry thinks of it, and what lessons there are for Plymouth’s growing digital hub.
